Our story begins in the jewel of the sprawling Coachella Valley desert - Palm Springs. While famous for its climate and ability to attract and cater to celebrities, it also embodies a gorgeous cultural heart, beating with diversity and promise. A unique cast of characters comes to life in this desert oasis, and their story has not been told until now!

Enter our Narrator, Bella Da Ball ℠, a 7-foot-tall drag queen famous throughout Palm Springs for her outlandish style and flair for fashion. She appears throughout the show, taking us on a “magical-musical-mystery-tour” in her bedazzled costumes, perfectly coiffed wigs, and excessive high heels.

Set in present day, PALM SPRINGS THE MUSICAL features two talented and passionate women, JR and El. JR, short for Jewel Robbins, is a beautiful, buxom redhead with the flair of a 40’s pin-up girl. The public adores her as a singer, songwriter and actress on both stage and screen. Her best friend, El Tanner, is a sexy, striking Armenian, with bohemian gypsy style. She’s a major player in the entertainment world and an award-winning producer, director and writer of stage and screen.

Having achieved successful careers in the entertainment business, they leave their stressful lives in Hollywood. Following a deathbed promise to Diane, JR’s Mom, the girls commit to pursuing her dream of recreating The Fabulous Follies...a Broadway style extravaganza, an “anything goes show.” Featuring astonishing acts performed by world-class entertainers, timeless talent at 55 years and older. JR and El begin their adventure by being welcomed into a multicultural, all- inclusive melting pot of lifestyles in the heart of the Coachella Valley – Palm Springs. Along their journey they befriend a diverse cast of colorful characters, a virtual kaleidoscope of personalities, who join them on their quest to bring back The Follies.

Some twist and turns that ensue are:

• Diane, now a playful and wise spirit guide, appears in “other worldly” form, to assure the ultimate outcome of the girls’ promise.
• A series of life-changing events that bring JR and El to discover their true mission on their grand adventure.
• The revelation that El’s torturous ties with her villainous stepfather, Vic Richards, is based on a long history of ruinous lies.
• Together El, JR and their new-found friends expose Vic and his evil partner Nurse Parker’s tyrannical reign at the Senior Living Facility...putting an end to their dark and deceitful deeds and bringing them to justice.

With the help of their new community family and newly liberated seniors, JR and El are empowered to produce an award winning recreation of the Fabulous Follies. Our story ends with a show-stopping, musical variety spectacular, featuring the entire cast ...who were all Born to Sparkle!!
